After infertility struggles and rumors of surrogacy, Kim Kardashian revealed she’s pregnant with her second child.
The big announcement was teased at the end of Sunday’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians midseason finale, where Kim shared the results of her blood test with Khloé. Glamour magazine confirmed the pregnancy in their July issue.
“We are so beyond excited,” Kardashian tells Glamour. Kardashian, 34, and Kanye West, 37, have been trying to expand their family following their May 2014 wedding. But because of secondary infertility, it hasn’t been an easy journey.
“I didn’t know that I was going to be so open with [my fertility challenges]," she says. "But meeting people at my fertility doctor’s office who are going through the same things I’m going through, I thought, ‘Why not share my story?’ It’s been really emotional.”
Her frustration has been especially evident on this season of KUWTK. We learned in March that she and Kanye were having sex " 500 times a day" in attempts to conceive.
“It’s so frustrating,” Kim said after finding out she wasn’t pregnant that month. “I’m exhausted, and I think I’m just really making this all about the wrong things. I’m forcing it. We just need to relax and we just need to not stress over it, not plan so much and just go with the flow.”
We’re happy to watch that frustration dissipate. Now we can turn out attention to other things, like name choice. Cardinal direction jokes (e.g., South West) are already circulating online.
