Mom Illustrates All Your Embarrassing Pregnancy Problems
From unwelcome body hair to nosy questions from strangers, pregnancy comes with its fair share of awkward and embarrassing moments. In case we haven’t emphasized the fact that you’re not alone enough, we’ve found some adorable cartoons to drive the point home.
Norwegian illustrator and mom-of-two Line Severinsen has been drawing hilarious cartoons of pregnancy and parenting challenges since 2012, when she was expecting her first baby. From bedroom blunders to grooming gaffes, her illustrations help moms and moms-to-be laugh at things they rarely even talk about.
“I thought to myself that there is no way that no other people felt and looked like I did,” she tells The Huffington Post. “So I wanted to create a counterpoint to help people like me to understand that they weren’t alone and that it is okay feel and act less than perfect sometimes.”
While Severinsen’s work currently exists on Instagram and Facebook, she says she plans to turn it into a book.
“It’s really rewarding to see that my drawings and experiences are resonating well with so many people … I now have a 3-year-old girl and a 5-month-old boy, which guarantees that I won’t run out of stories for many years to come,” she says.
We get that; we never have a shortage of embarrassing — and relatable — pregnancy and parenting stories.
