Be very cautious with taking echinacea during pregnancy. The same goes for other herbal supplements. Not only are there no direct studies verifying their safety, but the inactive ingredients in them aren’t regulated. That means that we often don’t know how much of certain ingredients they contain. So stay away from any herbal supplement your doctor hasn’t okayed, and bring the bottles in to your next appointment so she can see exactly what ingredients are in the herbals you’re considering taking.
