The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled about 81,000 units of the Chloe, Sophie and Audrey soft dolls by Pottery Barn Kids. The hair on the Chloe and sophie dolls may contain loops that are large enough to fit around a child’s head and neck and the headband on the Audrey doll can form a loop that fits around a child’s head and neck. They can pose a strangulation hazard. There have been five reports of dolls with looped hair — including one incident where the doll’s hair was found wrapped around the neck of a child. The product was sold exclusively at Pottery Barn Kids stores nationwide, online at potterybarnkids.com and in catalogs from July 2006 to April 2011.

If you have one of these dolls, take them away from children immediately and cut the looped hair of the Chloe and Sophie dolls and remove the headband of the Audrey doll. You can also call the company for instruction on how to return the dolls for merchandise credit. The company can be reached at (855) 880-4504 or online at www.potterybarnkids.com.
