Colin Kaepernick and Nessa Diab Announce the Birth of Their First Child
Athlete and activist Colin Kaepernick and his wife Nessa Diab have officially welcomed their first child!
The couple announced the birth on Instagram Sunday with a black and white photo featuring the husband and wife duo with baby. Diab, a TV and radio host, explained that while she was initially reluctant to share the happy news, as soon as she stepped out on the red carpet to work the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, she knew it was the right move.
“I thought long and hard about sharing our life-changing news today. I decided to do so because today is the first day in a few weeks where I stepped out for work with a new life title - MOM,” Diab said in the caption, adding, “Colin and I welcomed our amazing baby to the world a few weeks ago, and we are over the moon with our growing family.”
While Diab killed it on the red carpet just weeks after giving birth, she was honest with friends and fans that her life post-birth hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows. “Recovering after delivery has been a journey (more on that later) and honestly I wasn’t going to share anything because this is sooooo personal to us and I realized I’m a complete mama bear!” Diab said. Despite her reseervations, the new mom admits that sharing her story allows her to connect with her followers in a whole new way.
“My conversations and life experiences have already changed. And my world has gotten that much bigger thanks to our sweet little baby who has shown me how to love in ways I never knew,” Diab wrote.
As for Kaepernick, Diab was quick to praise her husband, “Colin is the most amazing dad and I’m soooo grateful that he is by our side for every moment of this journey,” she wrote. The author of the children’s picture book I Color Myself Different, Kaepernick broke the news that he and his wife were expecting late last year.
Kaepernick and Diab have yet to release the name or sex of their new addition, choosing to keep that information and baby’s image under wraps for now.
Our best to the Kaepernicks!
