Joey Lawrence and Samantha Cope Welcome Baby Girl
American sitcom star Joey Lawrence has welcomed a new baby girl to the family!
The Melissa & Joey actor and his wife, Samantha Cope, shared the happy news on Instagram Saturday. The carousel of photos posted to both parent’s pages featured images of Lawrence, Cope and their baby girl in their nursery, as well as one of their newborn swaddled and sleeping. “1.16.23 ~ Dylan Rose Lawrence ~ Mom, Dad and big sisters are all so smitten with you sweet girl!,” Lawrence, captioned the post.
“We welcomed her into this world with the most amazing midwife, everyone is happy and healthy and we are overjoyed with gratitude. Wow what a beautiful journey. Thank you for all your continued love surrounding this beautiful new life! Stay tuned for baby spam xoxo,” he wrote.
Fans, friends and fellow actors sent their congratulations in the comments. Actress Christy Carlson Romano wrote, “What perfection!,” while another commentator added, “Dylan for a girls name? That is super bad ass!”
Dylan is a gender-neutral name of Welsh origin that has been gaining popularity for baby girls in recent years. Dylan historically means “son of the sea,” and is inspired by the Welsh sea god Dylan.
The couple’s new addition is the first baby for Cope and the third for Lawrence, who is also dad to daughters Liberty, 12, and Charleston, 16, with ex-wife Chandie Yawn-Nelson.
Shortly after tying the knot in May, Lawrence and Cope shared their pregnancy with a beachside bump photo in September. “The blessings just keep on coming. Proud of you babe! Baby Lawrence on the way,” the dad-to-be wrote.
