Big Time Rush's Kendall Schmidt and Wife Mica Introduce Baby Maple

Kendall Schmidt has made a Big Time entrance into fatherhood.

The Big Time Rush artist and his wife, Mica von Turkovich, first announced their new arrival on March 22. “Maple,” the couple captioned a photo of their newborn in front of a blossoming spring tree. In a second photo, the happy family of three smiles together outdoors.

Traditionally a feminine name of British origin, the name Maple naturally stems from the hardwood trees commonly found across the United States. Drawing inspiration from the tree’s hearty nature and sweet syrup, the name Maple embodies strength and endurance with an irresistible sweeter side.

Schmidt first shared he and his wife were expecting on November 24—just days after his Big Time Rush bandmate Carlos PenaVega and his wife Alexa PenaVega (of SpyKids fame) announced they were expecting their fourth child. “Thankful for our baby,” Schmidt and von Turkovich captioned a video of the mom-to-be proudly displaying her baby bump.

Friends, fans and co-stars sent their congratulations to the happy couple in the comments. “So thankful for this little family. Love you,” wrote Schmidt’s Big Time Rush co-star Logan Henderson. “THE BEAUTIFUL REVEAL!!! So excited for you cuties to become the most loving wonderful parents,” added pop artist MAX.

Ahead of the big bump reveal, Schmidt shared photos from the couple’s secret nuptials. “Thankful for my baby,” he cheekily wrote. In a simple black and white image, the happy couple share a couch at their venue, dressed in their wedding day best surrounded by florals.

In a birthday post earlier this month, the boy band member alluded that the two had already tied the knot. “Thank you for all the birthday wishes, everyone. For anyone wondering, I’m 33, even though I obviously still look 23. Life is good! I’m so grateful for all of you and especially my beautiful wife @mica_chu,” Schmidt wrote.

Schmidt and von Turkovich met in 2012 and began dating in March 2015. After seven years of dating, the pop singer popped the question at Radio City Music Hall — the venue where they first met. And it’s been happily ever after since!
