Great British Baking Show Winner Rahul Mandal Welcomes First Child

A Great British Bake Off Baby has arrived!

Great British Baking Show Season 9 winner Rahul Mandal and his wife, Shreya, have welcomed their first child. “If there is anything that can ever top the experience of holding the @britishbakeoff trophy, this is it,” Mandal captioned a heartwarming photo of himself, Shreya and their new addition. “Everyone, let me introduce you to our daughter, Debeshi Mandal, born on 10th December 2024.”

Always humble and candid, the professional baker opened up about the family’s early days with their newborn. “Now, to the reality of looking after a baby, that neither of us have much experience of. But we will keep trying to do our best, as we did during the pregnancy,” Mandal shared. “Thousands of miles away from our family, the past nine months was a journey that brought us closer and made us stronger as a couple. Hopefully, we will be good parents, so please, any advice, suggestions, and support is welcome.”

In the comments, past Great British Baking Show contestants and fans flooded Mandal with love and congratulations. “What wonderful news, congratulations to you both,” wrote 2023 finalist Josh Smalley. “So, so thrilled for you, Rahul! I remember you speaking about wanting to be a dad in the tent, so couldn’t be happier for you both. Very much looking forward to meeting your little one soon—hope Shreya is doing well and my love to you all,” added 2018 finalist Ruby Bhogal. Fellow bakers Briony Williams, Jürgen Krauss, Freya Cox and Hermine Dossou also shared their warm wishes.
