Maternity Holiday Looks for $100 or Less

Six fab finds for mamas-to-be.

The holidays are officially in full-swing, and you know what that means…time to gear up for the chaotic family dinners, incessant Santa tunes, guilt-free overeating, and of course, the crazy holiday shoppers. But that’s not all you have to look forward to: With all those get-togethers, you’ll want to make sure you’re well-equipped with the perfect holiday dress — so you’d better start looking now! Whether you’re heading to Grandma’s house or off to the office party, we’ve got a holiday look that’ll suit your style, flatter your bump, and make you look like a million bucks — without spending it.

But before you head to the stores, here are a few golden rules every mama-to-be should keep in mind when searching for the perfect holiday dress. We asked Amy Tara Koch, author of _ Bump It Up: Transform Your Pregnancy Into the Ultimate Style Statement_, to share some of her holiday shopping dos and don’ts to live by. Here’s what she had to say:

_ Do: _ Go for versatility. Remember, you’re not going to be pregnant forever (thankfully). So get more bang for your buck and opt for a look you could dress up or down and wear again at least a few more times before baby arrives.

_Don’t: _ Over-trend. True, sequins are making a comeback (yep, we’re pretty shocked too). But that doesn’t mean you should squeeze your nine-month belly into a sequined minidress just because you can. Wearing sequins, satin, or too much jewelry could make you look too costume-y, so keep things streamlined.

_ Do: _ Mix it up. Crafting the perfect look (pregnant or not) is all about the accessories. So don’t stress about having an amazing dress — get creative by adding on statement pieces you love. “Try a pair of sweeping chandelier earrings or an oversized ring,” suggests Koch. “Or add a pop of color with a bright scarf.”
