The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jennifer Affleck is officially a mom of three.

“Baby Penelope is here and she is perfect,” Affleck shared in a July 7 post. The reality TV star revealed that she delivered Penelope unmedicated, calling it the most painful yet empowering experience of her life. She credited her husband, Zac, and her doula for their support, adding that she feels incredibly grateful and happy to have her daughter earth side. Just days later, the 26-year-old mom returned with a dose of humor, dancing around her hospital room and joking that while she might be ready for her Dancing with the Stars debut, her pelvic floor is definitely not.

While Affleck didn’t reveal exactly when her daughter was born, fans may remember that her labor kicked off in a pretty unconventional spot: the nail salon.

At 39 weeks pregnant with her third child and getting a manicure in preparation for the big arrival, Affleck suddenly began having contractions. “I’m feeling great. I’m in labor right now,” Affleck said with a slight edge to her voice as she timed her contractions and presumably called her midwife in a video she posted on June 27, captioned, “POV: You start having contractions at your nail appointment.”

In the video, the mom-to-be shows off her nail art before doing squats and getting a fetal Doppler test from what appears to be her midwife—right there in the salon. Not long after, she even does a cervix check on the floor.

In the comments, fans and fellow moms excitedly chimed in on the experience. “Going into labor at the nail salon. This feels like the perfect chick flick movie,” one commenter wrote. “The cervix check on the salon floor was the plot twist we all weren’t expecting,” added another. “But the big question is… did they finish your nails?” a fan asked. “If you gave birth at the salon does that mean you get free nails the rest of your life lol,” joked one stay-at-home mom.

The couple first shared the exciting news they were expecting their third child on February 11. “I was a few days late, and while it was a surprise, we both had a feeling there was another baby waiting for us,” Jennifer told People. “We were very excited. There were a lot of emotions after a very crazy year!”

The Afflecks have been in the spotlight since the release of the first season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, with their relationship drawing both criticism and support. The couple, who met and married at 18, are already parents to son Lucas, 19 months, and daughter Nora, 3.

Jennifer shared that both kids are “beyond excited” about their growing family. “Nora has been hoping for a little sister, and I can tell she really wants it to be a girl!” While Jennifer and Zac plan to wait until delivery to find out the baby’s sex, she admitted she has “a strong feeling it’s a girl.”

The YouTuber also revealed that this pregnancy has been her “hardest yet” due to pregnancy symptoms, work stress, and more. “The first trimester was really challenging mentally and physically; I experienced all the symptoms—nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and mood swings. It’s definitely been chaotic, no doubt about it,” she shared.

“I thought having two kids back-to-back was tough, but this has taken things to a whole new level. With the stress of work, motherhood, and the challenges that come with pregnancy, it’s been a lot. On top of that, I had some strong cravings and aversions—all I wanted was pho and limes with salt!”

Despite the challenges, Jennifer is grateful to have a special companion on this journey—her sister. “My sister also recently found out she’s pregnant after many years of trying with IVF, so we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this journey together,” she said. “Both of our parents were also absolutely thrilled to hear the news. They love being grandparents, so this was the perfect surprise for them.”
