Jersey Shore alum Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola is officially a boy mom!

The reality TV star announced the arrival of her first child with fiancé Justin May on August 26. “Welcome to the world my rainbow miracle baby! Vincent Keith May, August 20, 2025,” Giancola captioned photos of her newborn. “After this very long journey to get here, words cannot describe how blessed and truly grateful we are. Forever living in our baby love bubble until further notice. Ok, I can’t stop crying happy tears. Thank you, God.”

Vincent, a Latin name meaning “prevailing” or “conquering,” has long been popular in the Italian-American community in New Jersey and beyond. The name currently holds spot 189 among the most popular boy’s names in the US with families typically shortening the name to a nickname like Vinny, Vince or Vin.

The couple who have been vocal about their years-long struggle with infertility went all out Jersey-style for their baby’s sex reveal party. Hosted on the iconic Seaside Boardwalk with cast members and friends, Giancola and her fiancé Justin May stood in front of large “GIRL” and “BOY” light-up letters surrounded by balloons as cannons shot blue powder into the air for the big reveal.

“It’s just so iconic because me and my roommates, we’ve basically grew up here in Seaside and also me and Justin met here in Seaside,” Giancola told People. “It’s just very sentimental, meaningful all around.”

While the soon-to-be parents are “just happy to have a healthy baby,” they both said they “kind of had a feeling what it was.” Now that their—and many fans’—suspicions have been confirmed, the couple says they can’t wait for all the activities they’ll do as a family of three. “I can’t wait to just play sports,” says May. “Teaching my kid, coaching the Little League teams and stuff. It’s going to be exciting.”

“That makes my heart melt,” Giancola said in response. “Yeah, I’m just happy to have any baby. To be honest. I’m like, it’s a boy. I’m one of three girls, so I have two sisters. So for me, it’s very exciting to have a boy.”

Giancola and May first shared the exciting news they were expecting back in February. “We’ve been keeping a little secret… Baby May due August 2025,” the two captioned photos of themselves holding a sonogram and a sweet setup for their soon-to-be little one on the beach. “After struggling through years of infertility, this is the absolute greatest blessing we could ever possibly ask for! Our hearts have never been so full of love. We can’t wait to meet you, baby!”

The announcement sparked an outpouring of love from the Jersey Shore family. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi wrote, “So so so happy for you both! You deserve it all my loves,” while Lauren Sorrentino, wife of Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, added, “My heart is so happy for you both! Congratulations.” Jennifer “JWOWW” Farley chimed in, “I’m crying all over again.”

Fans also filled the comments with heartfelt messages: “The way my mouth just dropped for strangers. I’ve been watching y’all since I was 11 and I love this for you. Congratulations,” one fan wrote. “So happy for you! What a journey, congratulations,” chimed in the.ivf.warrior. “Proof that it does get better,” added another fan.

Giancola has been open about her fertility journey, sharing her struggles with infertility and in vitro fertilization (IVF) during season 7 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. The 37-year-old, who froze her eggs three years ago, was initially nervous about how people would react to her IVF journey—but found immense support from fans.

“It’s really nice to be able to read all your messages; they don’t go unnoticed, and you really have been making my day a little bit better,” she shared in an Instagram Reel thanking fans for their support along her journey. “I am learning a lot from all of you out there. You are giving great advice to me, and I hope I can help someone else by sharing my journey. This is harder than it looks to put out there and to go through. If you are going through it, just know that I am thinking of you as well.”
