Amber Heard Welcomes Fraternal Twins and Shares Their Names

Amber Heard is now a mom of three!

The Aquaman actress who confirmed that she was expecting last December surprised fans with the big reveal of not just one new addition, but two! “Mother’s Day 2025 will be one I’ll never forget. This year I am elated beyond words to celebrate the completion of the family I’ve strived to build for years. Today I officially share the news that I welcomed twins into the Heard gang. My daughter Agnes and my son Ocean are keeping my hands (and my heart) full,” she captioned a photo of her twins’ feet.

While the twins will share a birthday and 50 percent of their DNA, their names couldn’t be more different in style. The traditional Agnes, meaning “pure” or “holy” saw the height of its popularity in the early 1900s, while the newly trendy Ocean with obvious aquatic roots has shot to popularity since the early 1990s.

Heard also opened up about growing her family on her own terms and the love she has found in motherhood. “When I had my first baby girl Oonagh four years ago, my world changed forever. I thought I couldn’t possibly burst with more joy. Well, now I am bursting times three,” she shared.

“Becoming a mother by myself and on my own terms despite my own fertility challenges has been the most humbling experience of my life,” she added. “I am eternally grateful that I was able to choose this responsibly and thoughtfully. To all the moms, wherever you are today and however you got here, my dream family and I are celebrating with you. Love always.”

Heard introduced her daughter, Oonagh Paige, to the world in 2021, three months after her birth via surrogate. “Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms,” she revealed in an Instagram post at the time. “I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way.”

“I hope we arrive at a point where it’s normalized to not need a ring in order to have a crib,” she continued. “A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business. I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this. My daughter was born on April 8, 2021. Her name is Oonagh Paige Heard. She’s the beginning of the rest of my life.”

Since welcoming her daughter, Heard has made headlines amid a high-profile defamation suit with ex-husband Johnny Depp. Following the backlash from the case, she relocated to Spain to “live a quieter life.” Abroad, Heard has embraced motherhood, sharing glimpses of her now 3-year-old and affectionately reflecting on her mini-me in heartfelt posts.
