WWE Duo Cody and Brandi Rhodes Welcome Baby with Hawaiian Name
Aloha, baby No. 2!
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) stars Cody and Brandi Rhodes unveiled a long-kept secret this past weekend when they announced the arrival of their second child together. “Welcome to the world, Leilani Ella Runnels," Brandi captioned a close-up of her newborn daughter. “We are in love. Thank you God for answered prayers. Cody + Brandi + Libby + Lani = ❤️.”
Leilani, a girl’s name of Hawaiian origin, typically means “royal child of heaven” or “heavenly lei.” It comes from the words lei, meaning “flowers,” and lani, meaning “of the sky or heavens.” In Hawaiian culture, a lei is a floral garland that symbolizes love, friendship, peace or honor.
Wrestling stars, friends and fans flooded the couple with surprise and congratulations in the comments. “Wait…Brandi has been pregnant? Lord, we missed it! Congratulations,” wrote one fan. “Congratulations! Wow, kept a little secret," added retired WWE icon Gail Kim-Irvine. Several other wrestling personalities, including Leah Van Dale, Adam Pearce, Kim Orton and Thea Trinidad Büdgen, chimed in with well-wishes as well.
The Rhodes are already parents to big sister Liberty Iris, whom they welcomed in June 2021. “Just like a Rhodes … she’s early, never late! Liberty Iris came right on time. We are so in love with this tiny angel we can hardly describe it. Grateful is an understatement,” the duo told People at the time.
