Jane The Virgin Star Gina Rodriguez Is Pregnant with Baby Girl

Jane the Virgin star Gina Rodriguez has a baby girl on the way!

The Golden Globe winner shared the exciting news on July 12, posting a photo of her growing bump in a lemon-print tie tank with the caption, “Baby girl coming thru! We are so excited for you lil mama.” This marks baby number two for Rodriguez and her husband, fellow actor Joe LoCicero. The couple welcomed their son Charlie in May 2023.

This time around the actress says she’s craving “everything” with a particular love for sweets. “More sweets this time. I guess girls crave sweets. My boy didn’t,” Rodriguez told People. She’s also taking a more practical approach to maternity fashion. “I’m wearing flats. I figured it out the second time around. We’re going flats, we’re going comfortable with a stretch,” she said.

Thankfully, she’s not doing it alone. Her husband, who previously trained to be her doula during her first pregnancy, is once again stepping up. “My husband is literally a 10. I mean, he is tremendous,” Rodriguez said. “Being pregnant with a toddler is probably more debilitating than I ever thought it was, and he just scoops in everything, as you would hope a partner would, but he does it all the time, before I even think about it — before I ask.”

Rodriguez and LoCicero have always been open about the strength of their partnership. When announcing her first pregnancy, Rodriguez shared a video montage of sweet moments between the two, ending with the couple holding a positive pregnancy test. “This birthday hits different,” she captioned the post, adding a voiceover that said, “Anyone can want you, but love hits different when someone actually values you.”

Locicero, an MMA fighter and recent soil conservation advocate, echoed her sentiment in his own post talking about the importance of making your child’s life better than your own with the caption, “The love of my life is now carrying the new love of my life inside of her! I am exploding with joy every minute of the day. I could not be more excited for this incredible responsibility!”

Rodriguez and LoCicero started dating after LoCicero starred in an episode of Jane the Virgin in 2016. Two years later, the Someone Great star confirmed that not only were the two dating, but they were engaged as well. The couple married in May 2019.
