Jane the Virgin Star Gina Rodriguez Welcomes Her First Child

Jane the Virgin actress Gina Rodriguez has welcomed her first child!

A representative for Rodriguez and her husband, Joe Locicero, confirmed with TODAY that the couple had welcomed a baby boy! While they haven’t shared more news or images around their new addition yet, Rodriguez was recently spotted out on a walk around her Los Angeles neighborhood with baby in tow.

The Not Dead Yet star initially shared the news that she was expecting in an emotional video posted to Instagram on July 30 captioned, “This birthday hits different.” The video features a compilation of photos and videos of Rodriguez and Locicero, with a voiceover saying, “Anyone can want you, but love hits different when someone actually values you.” The last segment of the video cuts to an overjoyed Rodriguez and Locicero holding a positive pregnancy test.

In his own post, Locicero, an MMA fighter and recent soil conservation advocate, shared a video of Sadhguru talking about the importance of making your child’s life better than your own with the caption, “The love of my life is now carrying the new love of my life inside of her! I am exploding with joy every minute of the day. I could not be more excited for this incredible responsibility!”

Rodriguez and LoCicero started dating after LoCicero starred in an episode of Jane the Virgin in 2016. Two years later, the Someone Great star confirmed that not only were the two dating, but they were engaged as well. The couple married in May 2019 and have spent the last four years traveling and working on separate creative endeavors. The baby will be the couple’s first child.
