Love Is Blind’s Lauren and Cameron Expecting After Trying for 4 Years

The original Love is Blind favorites Lauren Speed-Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton are expecting their first child!

The season 1 stars shared their exciting news on May 26, captioning a photo of themselves holding a positive pregnancy test: “The moment that changed everything. After 4 years of prayers, patience, and a whole lot of love… seeing the word PREGNANT on our @Clearblue test made it real!” In other photos, the couple is pictured with their sonogram, a pair of baby shoes, and their dogs Sparx and Theo, both sporting Big Brother shirts.

The Hamiltons, who conceived their child through IVF, described seeing a positive pregnancy test after their long journey as a huge relief. “Seeing the word pregnant, it was amazing. We just looked at each other. I fell to my knees and cried," Speed shared with People. “It’s been a long time coming. We’ve literally been trying to get pregnant for four years.”

“I lost my father [at] Christmas of last year,” Speed added. “And so we took this test the end of January, beginning of February, so this was literally light in the darkness. This was like, wow. The spark that my whole family needed. We’ve been trying for a long time.”

“It was a little bittersweet because my dad’s not here physically to be with us, but we know that he’s watching over us. So it was just like, ‘Wow, I can’t believe this.’ We just felt so blessed, so grateful and happy, excited. Then it hit like, ‘We’re going to be parents. Oh my God.’”

Seven months ago the two opened up about the ups and downs of their path to parenthood on on their podcast The Love Seat. “This conversation is not the easiest for me I’ll be honest,” Speed shared. “I like to share a lot of things but this is one that’s still kind of tough, but I feel like it’s so important to talk about it so that you can see yourself.”

The two talked about while their journey has strengthened their marriage, the day to day was anything but easy. “When I saw what you were going through in terms of of taking the medications doing the daily shots— knowing that IVF and all this stuff wasn’t really something that you naturally wanted to do but you did it for me—you showed me a new level of love that I’d never seen before,” shared Cameron.

Now through a “rough” first trimester, Lauren is settling into her second trimester and has mostly been having food aversions. One thing she’s craving though—cheese. “I want cheese puffs, I want macaroni and cheese. I want just regular shredded cheese in my mouth. Cheese and fruit have been my thing,” Speed shared.

The two also hope to get parenting advice from other Love is Blind castmates, including their good friends Amber and Matt Barnett, who recently welcomed their first baby. There’s quite the Love is Blind mom and dad village is forming, with new parents Bliss and Zack Goytowski, Alexa and Brennon Lemieux, and expectant parents AD Smith and Ollie Sutherland.
