Peppa Pig Welcomes New Baby Sister

Peppa Pig has a new little sister to love!

Mummy Pig from the beloved children’s show Peppa Pig shared the exciting news on May 20 that she welcomed her daughter, Evie. “I’m feeling fantastic,” Mummy Pig told People. “I’m so thrilled Evie is finally here, happy and healthy! I won’t say it was an easy birth, because I’m not sure such a thing exists — oink! But it was all worth it once she was snug and safe in my arms, and the family got to meet her properly.”

Traditionally a girl’s name of Hebrew origin meaning “life” or “living,” Mummy Pig said she struggled to pick the perfect name before settling on Evie. “It was quite a process to find the perfect name, let me tell you,” she said. “For a while, it seemed like we might just call her ‘Baby’ forever! Oink! But Evie is a perfect fit – it was the name of my Great Aunt, and our little one’s eyes just lit up when we first suggested it, like she knew it was her name already.”

Mummy Pig says Peppa and George were thrilled to meet their new sibling, sprinting through the hospital, alongside Granny and Grandpa Pig, to meet their baby sister. “What was a big surprise, though, was just how gentle they were with Evie straight away,” Mummy Pig said. “As soon as they were in the room, they were so calm and loving… Evie couldn’t get enough of their attention, smiling and giggling away!”

Since bringing Evie home, the family has had to navigate some changes, but Mummy Pig says the they’ve taken the good and tough moments in stride. “It’s an ongoing change for sure! They both take their responsibility as ‘Big Brother’ and ‘Even Bigger Sister’ very seriously,” she shared. “There’s been some wobbles here and there — sometimes, it can be tricky for little ones to understand that babies need a lot of Mummy and Daddy’s time and attention.”

“However, we do our best to make sure each little one feels loved and seen, even involving them in all things Evie-related…which is usually a lot, until it’s time for a nappy change!”

Mummy Pig first shared her big news on an epside of Kylie Kelce’s new podcast Not Gonna Lie,.“I’m thrilled to say I’m pregnant!” she shared “Baby No. 3 is due in the summer.” After a quick congratulations, Kelce, who’s dealt with some big feelings from her daughters lately about the arrival of a new sibling, asked Mummy Pig how her two little ones were handling the news.

“Oh yes, I saw your picture,” Mummy Pig said, referencing Kelce’s big baby announcement with a crying youngest, Bennett, a content middle sister, Elliotte, and a shocked oldest sister, Wyatt. “They’re just taking everything in their stride really. Peppa says she’s an even bigger sister now, and I’m an even bigger mommy. Kids will humble you, and you know we’ve had a few big feelings, as we call them, but we talk and reassure them when they need it. It’s an exciting change, but it is a big one,” Mummy Pig added.

With the addition of a third child Mummy Pig admitted that she and Daddy Pig would be in for it. “Well, Daddy Pig and I will be outnumbered now, so we’ll take any tips you’ve got. But we’re a great team, and he’s very hands-on,” she said. Kelce chimed in to share that when Bennie, her third child, was born, she and Jason had to change to “zone coverage,” a comparison that might’ve alluded to Mummy Pig as Brit.

While Kelce and Mummy Pig commiserated over common pregnancy woes like constant trips to the bathroom, Mummy Pig shared that, overall, she and the family are thrilled for the new addition. “Oh, all the firsts—the first time the baby laughs, or crawls, or plays. I mean, those are the best, aren’t they?” she said. “They are, and now we can share those moments with Peppa and George too, making those memories together as an even bigger family. As Peppa would say.”
