Riverdale's Casey Cott and Wife Nichola Are Expecting Their First Baby

Riverdale star Casey Cott and his wife, Nichola Basara, are expecting their first child together. Cott, who plays Kevin Keller in the hit TV show, and his wife Basara shared with People how they found out and the latest details.

“We thought there was a chance I was pregnant but, you never really know until you know for sure!” Basara said. “I woke up before Casey on a Saturday morning and snuck into the bathroom to take a Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test…it VERY quickly said ‘pregnant,’ and I was so excited. Only problem was that Casey was still fast asleep! I waited for him to wake up for two full hours,” the mom-to-be, 31, said.

“Finally, when he woke up, I immediately showed him the front of the test. He was half asleep, but proceeded to jump out of bed and run around our bedroom celebrating,” Basara said.

The news was met with excitement and congratulations from Cott’s Riverdale co-stars, including Camila Mendes, Madelaine Petsch, and Cole Sprouse, who commented on the Instagram announcement with well-wishes. Fans also shared their excitement on social media, with many expressing their love for Cott and his character on the show.

As Cott and his costars close out their seventh and final Riverdale season the 30-year-old soon-to-be dad sees this as the perfect transition to his baby’s arrival in September. “As one major milestone in our lives—Riverdale, along with our time in Vancouver — comes to an end, this beautiful new chapter is about to begin,” Cott said. “We are just so excited to be parents and to make this child’s life as amazing as humanly possible!”
