RHONY Alum Eboni K. Williams Is Expecting Her First Baby via IVF
Reality TV star Eboni K. Williams is pregnant with her first child!
The Real Housewives of New York alum and current Equal Justice judge shared the big news with her followers on June 5. “Anybody who’s gone through IVF or attempted IVF will tell you so many things have to go right for the final result of this journey to be a baby,” Williams said in the post in partnership with People. “That’s why I’ve called this ‘my remarkable miracle,’ because it really does feel like I’ve been the recipient of some very enormous favor from God above.”
The journey to parenthood for the 40-year-old host of Holding Court has been a winding one, but one Williams stands confident in. After freezing her eggs six years ago and breaking things off with her fiancé in 2021, Williams told People that she is ready to “do this thing solo. 'This is about me, not he.”
“I have wanted to pursue the single motherhood by choice journey for the past two years, and I’m so blessed to be here now. but I’m also not deft to how extraordinarily stigmatized it still is,” says Williams. “My mother Gloria raised me all by myself, and did so in an era and at a time where being a single mother in this country — especially a Black single mother — was one of the most disgraceful things you could do. And in the span of a generation, that’s shifted to where women like me are not just embracing it, but also choosing it.”
“It is not the shame-ridden narrative that it used to be; that’s steeped in poverty, that’s steeped in scarcity, that’s steeped in rejection — that’s steeped in all of these heartbreaking, sad trauma points,” Williams continues. “That is not this story. These innocent, little babies are so desperately and lovingly wanted that they have mothers who invested exorbitant resources (by way of money, by way of time, by way of what we put our bodies through, etc.) to bring them to this Earth, and to shower them with all the things that all sweet babies deserve. That’s love.”
Williams will be far from alone in her motherhood journey though with plenty of friends, fans and community members reaching out in the comments of her announcement to express their congratulations and support. “Congrats!!! You’re gonna love motherhood,” wrote Sanya-Richards Ross. “’m going to be a new #auntieLoni! Congratulations my dear,” added Loni Love. “WHAAAATTTTTTT!!! Omgggg congratulations. I almost threw my phone!!! This baby bout to have the best mama,” chimed in Jessica Mawusi MBali Woo.
Our congratulations to Williams on this new adventure!
