Merrily We Roll Along Broadway Star Lindsay Mendez Is Pregnant

One of Broadway’s biggest shows is getting a new cast member!

Lindsay Mendez, known for her role as Mary Flynn in Broadway hit Merrily We Roll Along, announced she was expecting a new little one on March 27. “Our family band is expanding! And we are bursting with joy,” she captioned an Instagram photo of four pairs of shoes sitting on a piano. J and I can’t wait to make Lucy a big sister and welcome our new baby this fall.” The new addition will be Mendez’s first child with her fianceé J. Alex Brinson. She previously welcomed her 2-year-old daughter Lucy with her ex-husband Philip Wakefield.

Along with her announcement, Mendez was quick to express her gratitude for the “unrelenting support” of her Merrily We Roll Along producers and company. “Together, they have made it so that I can happily work safely, all while growing this true Broadway baby,” she wrote. “So, I will be continuing with the show, and finish the run on July 7th with my incredible cast. Come see (both) of us at the Hudson!”

Brinson and Mendez met while working on All Rise together. For Brinson’s birthday this year, Mendez shared a photo of her and Brinson in Central Park with a touching caption. “It’s my favorite persons birthday! J, you are pure light…and make everything you touch feel warm and so seen,” the expectant mom wrote.

“This past year has been full of SO many challenges…a cross-country move, a strike, a Broadway run with mommy being gone every evening. And through it all, you have stepped up so hard and been the man of Lucy and I’s dreams, every single day.”
