Dancing With the Stars Derek Hough Is Going To Be a Dad

A new dancing star is on the way!

Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) favorite Derek Hough and his wife and fellow professional dancer Hayley Erbert shared the exciting news on July 22. “We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small,” the couple captioned a sweet video of them together revealing Erbert’s bump and their baby’s sonogram photos.

In the comments, friends, fans and members of the DWTS family sent their congratulations to the parents-to-be. “Congratulations!!! Hugs from our entire family,” Hough’s season 21 partner and winner, Bindi Irwin wrote. “Oh my gosh!!! Congratulations you guys I am so so happy and excited for you both. Sending you lots of love,” added fellow DWTS choreographer Sharna Burgess. “Wow! Yes! Congratulations to you THREE! So happy for you,” chimed in Hough’s ex Nina Dobrev. Other dancing celebrities like Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Jenna Dewan also sent their love and congratulations.

Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert met in 2014 when Hayley was hired as a dancer for Derek and his sister Julianne Hough’s “Move Live” tour. The two got in engaged in June 2022 and tied the knot in August 2023.

In February 2023, the couple opened up about how meeting fellow dancers Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson’s baby boy changed their timeline for kids. “There wasn’t a rush on thinking about kids until we just met Val and Jenna Chmerkovskiy’s baby, and that was when it was kinda like, 'Should we get on this now,?” Erbert Hough told Entertainment Tonight. “It was pretty special, and actually it was cool 'cause Val, he was like, ‘Bro, for somebody who creates, this will be your ultimate creation,’” Hough added.
