Dodgers' Kiké Hernández and Mariana Vicente Expecting Baby No. 2
The Los Angeles Dodgers will be welcoming a new member to their family this season!
Utility player and fan favorite Kiké Hernández and his wife, Mariana Vicente, shared exciting news on August 13: they’re expecting their second child! “KIKITO coming soon!” the couple captioned a black-and-white photo of themselves. Both Hernández and the former Miss Universe Puerto Rico have their shirts pulled up and stomachs out—Hernández sporting a “food baby” while Vicente proudly shows off her growing baby bump. The two added a blue heart, seemingly a nod to welcoming a baby boy, along with “2026” as the due date.
Teammates, loved ones, and friends sent their congratulations and shared their excitement in the comments. “Felicidades familia,” commented Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas. “Congrats you two,” added sports reporter Kirsten Watson. “Yay! We can’t wait for Kikito! Congrats you guys,” chimed in expectant mom Suzanna Wood, wife of former Dodgers pitcher Alex Wood.
The Hernándezes are already parents to daughter Penélope, who they welcomed on January 15, 2021. Hernández emphatically called the day the best of his life. “The day I got drafted I thought I was on top of the world, the day I made my Big League debut I thought nothing would compare, the day I got married I felt like the world stopped, the day we won the World Series I thought I had it all; NOTHING compares to the moment when I met my little girl,” he wrote in an Instagram post welcoming his daughter.
According to The Knot, Hernández first noticed Vicente while watching Hot Tub Time Machine 2. After learning they shared a hometown in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and both lived in Los Angeles, Hernández sent her a DM. Two months later, they met for lunch and began dating in October 2015. The baseball star popped the question in July 2017, and the two tied the knot in Puerto Rico in December 2018.
