Saoirse Ronan Is Pregnant With Her First Child

Saoirse Ronan is going to be a mom!

The Golden Globe-winning actress and Little Women star is expecting her first child with British actor Jack Lowden. Rumors first swirled around Ronan’s pregnancy after her appearance at the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2026 show on May 22. Just days later on June 1, she and Lowden stepped out on a walk in London with Ronan sporting a black jumpsuit with a gray hoodie tied under her growing baby bump.

In a rare glimpse into her personal life, the Ladybird actress opened up in October 2024 about her desire to start a family. “I became successful when I was quite young. So it meant that, actually, by the time I found my partner, I’m now at the stage where if it happened, I would like to have a kid,” she told British Vogue. “I feel fortunate enough that if I step out of this for a minute, I’m hopefully not giving it up forever. But, yeah, I’ve always wanted that.”

The American-born Irish actress and the Slow Horses actor tied the knot in Edinburgh in July 2024. The two reportedly got engaged in 2023 after meeting on the set of Mary, Queen of Scots where Lowden played Henry Darnley and Ronan played the Scottish queen.

Not long after wrapping the movie, Lowden applauded Ronan’s work on set. "The woman is a force of nature on and off-screen, and utterly fearless and a brilliant leader as well,” he said on a Build Series panel. For being 24 years old, it’s just constantly amazing to me, not just her work, but how she is on a set is amazing.”
