Pete Davidson Feels 'Guilty' Over Girlfriend’s Pregnancy Announcement
In today’s social media age, where few things stay private for long, expectant parents often wrestle with when to share their big news. But not everyone gets their ideal reveal.
On a recent episode of The Breakfast Club radio show, comedian and dad-to-be Pete Davidson admitted he felt guilty that his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, was forced to announce her pregnancy earlier than she wanted because of his fame. “I feel bad for my girl because I bring a lot of s—,” Davidson said. “Anything I do or she does is now gonna be a thing.”
“She’s a very private person and she’s the one doing all the work,” he continued. “[She] never made me feel this way or said anything, but I feel so guilty and horrible that I could not allow her to have the ideal pregnancy that almost every woman gets to have and enjoy.”
The couple revealed they were expecting their first child together on July 16. “Welp now everyone knows we had sex,” the Dave actress cheekily captioned an Instagram post featuring photos of the couple, their baby’s sonogram, and the viral “Mamacita?” meme from Love Island.
Just eight months after his split from Madelyn Cline, Davidson and Hewitt were first confirmed to be dating in March 2025. By May, TMZ had reported that the couple had moved in together and were splitting their time between Pete’s house in upstate New York and a brownstone they recently began renting in Brooklyn.
Davidson first opened up about his “dream to become a dad” during an appearance on Kevin Hart’s talk show, Hart to Heart, back in 2022. “My favorite thing ever, which I’m yet to achieve, is I wanna have a kid,” Davidson said. “It’s super corny, but it would be so fun to dress up a little dude. I’m so excited for that chapter so that’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now, is trying to be like good as a dude and develop and get better so when that happens it’s just easier."
