Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Welcome Baby Boy
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first child early this morning, according to the Royal Sussex Instagram account. The baby weighs 7 lbs. 3 oz. “The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives,” the statement reads.
“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news,” a statement reads. Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, is with the Duchess at Frogmore Cottage and is “overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild.”
The news first broke earlier this morning that the Duchess went into labor and that “the Duke of Sussex was by Her Royal Highnesses’ side.” Buckingham Palace will share additional details in the coming days.
