Ted Lasso's Brendan Hunt Welcomes Baby No. 2 with Shannon Nelson

Ted Lasso actor Brendan Hall has welcomed another Arsenal fan to the family.

Known for his role as Coach Beard in the popular Apple series, Hall and his fiancée Shannon Nelson announced the arrival of their second son on Instagram. “We were supposed to go to @cedarssinai today to have a baby. Instead, we got home today, because our fourth family member felt like rolling up three days early,” Hall wrote on March 4. “Say hello to Archibald Felix Nelson Hunt (Archie will do), born Friday March 1st, coming in at 9+lbs. He’s in perfect health, and his weary hero of a mother @snoopshann is recovering peacefully.”

Archibald or more commonly Archie, comes from the Old High German Ercanbald, which means “genuinely bold, brave.” Popularized by Archie Comics, and more recently as the name of Harry and Meghan’s son, the name Archie has sparked in popularity since 2007 and currently sits as the 255th most popular name for boys in the US.

Hall added that Archie “looks just like his brother” though the family isn’t sure about his hair color yet. In his first few days on earth, the couple’s newborn has already met his brother and grandmother and even watched his first Arsenal game. “He’s beautiful and perfect and we are in love. I don’t know if he’s our George (youngest Beatle) or our Ringo (last Beatle to join) but we are now a Fabulous Foursome and ready to rock forever. And as you can see in the last pic, he also looks a little like his dad,” Hall added.

Hall and Nelson first shared the big news that they were expecting on August 22 on Instagram. “Incubating a couple of things. #multitasking #MOTS #15 weeks,” Nelson captioned a photo of her growing bump.

Hall and Nelson are already parents to a 2-year-old son, named Sean and recently got engaged in June 2023, just days after the season three finale of Ted Lasso. “We are a family,” Nelson wrote in a recent post.

"A beautiful, wonderful family and will be for always. Some folks have assumed we had already done this, but truth be told, we had other priorities in becoming a family. Now it feels right. I get to marry this beautiful man. I get to call him my husband and to be his wife and I am the luckiest.”
