LaKeith Stanfield and Kasmere Trice Welcome First Baby Together
LaKeith Stanfield and Kasmere Trice Stanfield have quite a few surprises up their sleeves!
Since announcing their engagement last December, the Atlanta star and American model have not only wed in secret but have also welcomed their first child together. “We’ve manifested this beautiful family,” Stanfield told People. “I want to spend the rest of my life with her.”
The notoriously private couple chose to keep their little one’s arrival a secret for several weeks. “We decided early on we wanted to protect our baby as much as we can for as long as possible,” Trice said. “Being in the public eye can be something that’s amazing, but it can also be something that is very hard on you. There needs to be things that exist that are sacred and not for consumption for everybody,” Stanfield added.
The couple has not released the birthday, name or sex of their new baby, but chose to make their little one’s arrival known so they could be the ones to tell their story. “We’re bringing our family forward so we may inspire others,” they noted.
Stanfield was proud to have been by Trice’s side throughout her pregnancy and delivery, offering any help that he could. “All I ever tried to do in those crazy moments, like when she was in labor, was be a support system. That and figure out how many ice chips I needed to give her,” he joked.
The Haunted Mansion actor is already the father to two daughters under age 7. “I’m really honored that I got to see the father in [him] before I was even having our baby,” Trice, a first-time Mom, said. LaKeith, who says his daughters are “so fun and so smart,” admits that navigating parenting relationships in the spotlight isn’t easy. “Sometimes, when things can get difficult, you have to remember that what’s most important is the child and that we’re pushing ourselves to grow, so we can reflect back to them the good things.”
Our congratulations to the Stanfields on their new addition!
