Cameron Diaz Welcomes Baby Boy No. 2 With Benji Madden

Cameron Diaz is officially a mom of two!

The 51-year-old actress and her husband, Benji Madden of Good Charlotte fame, shared their happy news on March 23. “We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our Son, Cardinal Madden. He is awesome and We are all so happy he is here!” the couple captioned the couple captioned an abstract drawing on Instagram that reads, “A little bird whispered to me.”

Diaz and Madden added that for their kids’ safety and privacy, they wouldn’t be posting any photos but that Cardinal was “really cute,” and that they were feeling “so blessed and grateful.”

Fans, friends and Hollywood stars, including Pete Wentz, Lionel Richie and Josh Madden, sent their love and congratulations in the comments. “Another earth angel,” wrote Katy Perry. “Does he know his mother is an icon??? Congrats!” added a fan.

The road to parenthood wasn’t easy for the two, but Diaz and Madden were thrilled to become parents to two. “They were always hoping for a second baby, because they love being parents," and insider told People. "For years, Cameron wanted to be a mom. She gets very emotional when she talks about the long journey to motherhood. She feels beyond lucky to now have two children.”

Diaz and Madden welcomed their first baby, daughter Raddix, in December 2019. “I love being a mother. It’s the best, best, best part of my life,” Diaz said in 2020. “I’m so, so grateful and so happy and it’s the best thing ever, and I’m so lucky to get to do it with Benji.”
