Mandy Moore Welcomes First Baby Girl Lou with Taylor Goldsmith

Mandy Moore is finally a girl mom!

The This is Us star and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, shared the arrival of their first baby girl on September 25. “Lou is here! Louise Everett Goldsmith arrived happy, healthy, expeditiously and right in time for Virgo season,” Moore captioned a photo of her holding her newborn. “She is our absolute dream girl and her big brothers are already as obsessed with her as we are. Endlessly grateful for our family of 5 (and our very own big three) and soaking in every moment of this special time.”

Moore and Goldsmith’s choice of Louise beautifully complements the timeless names they’ve given their two older boys, August and Oscar. Ranking in the top 200 most popular girl names, Louise has French origins and traditionally means “renowned warrior,” symbolizing strength and courage—a fitting inspiration for their newest addition.

Moore first shared the exciting news she was expecting her own big three on Instagram on May 31. “Sometimes life imitates art. The third in our own Big Three coming soon. Can’t wait for these boys to have a baby sister,” she captioned a photo of her two sons August, 3, and Oscar, 1, wearing Big and Middle shirts.

In the comments family, friends and costars sent their eager congratulations and referenced the icon show. “I CANNOT WAIT TO MEET THIS LITTLE NUGGET! Love you guys and can’t wait for this family of 5! Sunday dinners will never be chill again,” wrote cookbook author and expectant mom Gaby Dalkin. “Ahhhhh THE BIG 3. You had to!! So excited for you,” added influencer and soon-to-be mom of two Amanda Hirsch.

Moore will have her hands full with three under four, after welcoming her son Oscar or “Ozzie” in October 2022 and oldest child August “Gus” in February 2021. From navigating both births without an epidural to taking placenta pills, the star has garnered headlines for her own unique approach to pregnancy and parenting.

Moore and her husband Taylor Goldsmith got engaged in September 2017 after dating for two years and got married in November 2018. Speaking with Parents in 2021, Moore explained how her life has changed since welcoming her oldest son Gus.

“Not to sound cheesy, but all the clichés are true. Life is Technicolor now. It just makes sense in a way that it didn’t before,” said Moore. “I had no idea that this degree of love existed in the world.”
